Oliva Serie V Lancero
Dear Reader...
I'm really happy to review the Lancero vitola by Oliva Serie V, because it is my favorite format, and Oliva is an outstanding Cigar Brand.
I don't know how is it in your Country but here in Switzerland it is always sold out, and that's why I'm happy that one of my favorite cigar dealer (Manuel's Zürich) reserved me a few pieces.
The Habano Sungrown wrapper have a nice dark caramel color, and the veins are light, but easily visible. The cold aromas in the nose are: medium-full mixture of leather, cocoa and herbs.
After lighting the initial draw is tight with a dose of cedar that transitions into a cedar and cocoa mixture with a lengthy spicy cocoa and earthy finish. At this moment many would say is a tipical series v, but for me the flavors are much concentrated.
After about 20 min I come into the second third, it is medium-full body with toastiness and leather over cocoa and dry woods. Very very enjoyable and the daw and burn are still perfect. Sometimes the lancero format is not so easy to smoke because of the heavy draw but with Oliva I never had this problem. If you are beginner in the Lancero world it is a good choice to try this format.
Into the last third (~1:30) toastiness and herbs dominate over earth and cocoa, still at medium-full. The finish is essentially an extension of the initial flavor, herbs and toastiness over cocoa; medium-full and average length-wise. The pepper notes are very pleasant and gives a great overall tasting experience for the cigar. When I bought the Oliva serie V lancero expected exactly what I got. A perfect cigar for a lazy afternoon...
Cheers....
