Alec Bradley Gatekeeper Corona
Dear Reader....
This time I brought you a relatively new line from Alec Bradley, the Gatekeeper.
Alec and Bradley Rubin first launched onto the scene in 2018 with the release of a small-batch project known as Blind Faith. And while this cigar was crafted with the mindset of offering a fresh perspective perhaps uncommon from parent brand Alec Bradley, it is the Gatekeeper that drives this concept home.
Gatekeeper is rolled in the Dominican Republic, partnering with Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and his well-established Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. factory.
I haven't smoked corona vitola for a long time, so I'm very happy that The Gatekeeper line has this format.
The wrapper smells just awesome.... Leather, wood, nutts exactly what you expect from two of the best cigar manufacturer in the world.
After lighting, the first three words that I wrote down on my paper was:
"fresh cedar spice, overtoasted bread(not burn but close) and earthiness .These three notes are recognizable from the beginning to the end of the cigar, in the second third it is accompanied by creamy and in the last third by peppery and woody notes. It was a small amount of smoke but really intense. The last time mostly I had cigars with a lot of smoke, and the Gatekeeper suprised me how can so much taste come from such a little smoke?!
You have to understand this cigar and the corona format so I recommend it for advanced aficionados.
One more thime the details:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua | Dominican Republic
Factory: Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. (Dominican Republic)
Production: Regular Production
Vitola: 5⅛” x 42 (Corona)
Cheers.....
